Hello Brugge!

Resting pretty to the west of Germany, east of France, and south of Amsterdam, Belgium does not garner as much attention as its neighbors. I spent 4 days in this beautiful country, 5 if I count travel.

Belgium was SO satisfying. It gave me one of the dreamiest experiences I’ve had.

I spent two days each in the capital, Brussels, and Bruges (Brügge in German). I’ll tell you about Brussels here, and Brugges later.

Brussels, the mini metropolitan with a rich old town

The goal was to have the most fun without breaking the bank. We arrived at the Brussels airport quite early in the morning.

The train station was directly in the basement of the airport. We were greeted by very friendly train staff ready to help us in any language we like — English, Dutch, French, or German.

I could already tell that this place is a customer-service paradise compared to its German neighbors. I once had airport security in Germany scream at me because I delayed her Feierabend (End of the work shift) by deciding to fly. Ehm..what?
